NoodleTools is a subscription service that helps students create source cards, note cards, and outlines all in one place for a research assignment.
The site is engaging and interactive and launching a new and even better interface soon. Both teachers and students can access the projects. This creates an online, thoughtful dialogue about source quality and documentation. The source questions that students are prompted with encourages them to be knowledgeable about their source and its individual parts. The notecard desktop is the perfect blend of traditional research skills (remember those shoe boxes full of index cards?) and the technological age. You still have your cards (they are virtual); you still have your work area. In Noodlebib, you simply click and drag. Cards can be put into piles and then dragged into an outline that will help students organize and focus their information. |
